When a price has no current readingA price with no current reading is not treated as zero. The market refuses any action that needs it. Supplying and repaying do not need a price. Borrowing does, and so does withdrawing collateral while anything is owed: the market reads a price for each reserve the position has supplied as collateral or owes, including the one being borrowed.

An adapter serves what its parent oracle last accepted. The parent takes a price only when enough of its sources answer with one inside the age limit and no circuit breaker is holding it, and the adapter stops serving that price once it passes the same limit.
